Idle Reduction Program
About
Vehicle idling can waste up to 0.5 gallons of fuel per hour, costing vehicle owners money and contributing about 20 lbs. of greenhouse gas emissions per gallon. Connecticut law prohibits idling for more than three consecutive minutes. Live Green is working in collaboration with Connecticut DEEP to educate communities on the benefits of Idle Reduction.
Goals
- To have at least one No Idle sign up in every town in Fairfield County
- To broaden our reach to communities throughout Connecticut

14 out of 23 towns and cities in Fairfield County have an Idle Reduction sign.
